Anna Patteson
Curriculum Tutor (Ukulele)
Having been involved in music in some way for most of her life, Anna started playing ukulele in 2010 and quickly took on teaching in primary schools, where she continues to work. From fronting local band, Steerpike, in her teens, Anna’s musical adventures have included samba outfits Norwich Samba and Rabo de Foguete, and now dance and electronica combo, Wonky.
Anna’s parallel career has been as a videographer and video journalist. A graduate from NUA in Cultural Studies, she made films under a Millennium Award and for Channel 4, before taking on a job at the Norwich Evening News as a video journalist. She has continued that work as one half of Insight Media Productions, and has also led Norfolk Community Arts’ Communications and Marketing team in a part-time role.
Anna says, “from the age of six, until I was eighteen, I wanted to be an actress. I took part in school productions, evening classes and took Theatre Studies A level. After leaving school, I acted in a film, then I joined a band as a singer and had a lot of fun preforming at venues. I think acting skills help with all aspects of confidence and teaching.”
