Ellie Wright
Choir Tutor
Ellie graduated from the University of East Anglia with a degree in Music and from Cambridge University with a PGCE in Secondary Music. She joined Sistema in 2021 as part of the General Music team and leads the programme’s choral course.
Ellie has many years’ experience directing choirs of young people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds both in the UK and abroad. She helps students develop a good singing technique, whilst at the same time advancing their musical knowledge and experience through singing a wide variety of music from many genres.
As well as choral directing, Ellie is the Music Specialist at Chapel Green School in Old Buckenham, a school for children with complex needs, and delivers workshops for The Matthew Project in Norwich. She plays and teaches the piano, performs as a solo mezzo-soprano, plays the cello and viol and likes to swim, cook and spend time with her young family.
From a large musical family, Ellie’s taste in music is eclectic, ranging from medieval and classical music to folk and electronica.
