James Porter
Musicianship and Curriculum Tutor
James works as a General Music Tutor for Sistema in Norwich, and as a curriculum music tutor in several different schools, often with an element of digital music. He thoroughly enjoys both of these roles as he gets to share his passion for music and it is very rewarding seeing how students develop on their own musical journey.
Guitar is James’ first instrument and, outside of his work with Norfolk Community Arts, he works as a guitarist and private guitar tutor. He performs a lot, including event band Groovapolitan, and being one third of up-and-coming folk band, Inlay (which also involves one of Sistema’s alumni, Ross Grant).
James says, “it’s very difficult to pick a favourite piece of music, but I’ll go with Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix as that would certainly be in my top 10!”
