Norwich Summer Sessions (formerly Head Out Not Home) is a festival of music and street theatre, taking place across the city centre during July and August.  It is commissioned by Norwich BID and programmed and delivered by Norfolk Community Arts.

2023 will be the festival’s 10th year and brings a fresh new look.  You can access the programme for 2023 and get information on the featured artists via the links below.

Please note that the programme can change due to circumstances beyond our control, such as the weather.  Please check our social media and that of our partners for updates, e.g. (@NorwichBIDUK, @VisitNorwich)

Norwich Summer Sessions offers an eclectic mix of established local bands, exciting regional or national acts, world renowned street theatre and up-and-coming local artists, all suitable for a family audience.

The festival is not possible without our amazing team of festival staff and volunteers.  Please get in touch if you are interested in getting involved.

If you have a band or a street theatre act and are interested in performing, then please get in touch.

Norwich Summer Sessions supports up-and-coming artists, especially young people.   Our Platform stage runs on a number of weeks each year to offer performance slots to these artists.

We often work with partners to promote this opportunity. Current Platform partners include Access Creative College, Norwich Arts Centre, Norfolk Music Hub and Young Norfolk Arts Trust.

Applications have closed for 2023, but if you are 16-24 years old, a band or solo performer with 15 to 30 minutes of performance ready material then please look out for notices on future opportunities.
