Sistema Norwich is a free after-school program that looks to inspire children to reach their full potential.
Children learn how to play an instrument and, more importantly, experience the joy of being part of an orchestra. Designed to be fun and engaging, children learn valuable life skills while at the same time growing musically. Sistema Norwich runs from NORCA’s headquarters at Martineau Memorial Hall, Colegate, Norwich.
The programme is free to participants.
No previous experience is required to join our Da Capo beginners’ orchestra, all you need is a willingness to learn and a love of music. Da Capo orchestra sessions take place after school (4.15 to 6.15pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays). We work with Year 3+, so children need to be 7 years or older on 1st September 2023. All students receive an instrument on loan for the duration of their time in the programme.
Our beginners intake for September 2023 is now complete. You can still fill out an expression of interest in joining the programme and we will be in touch when we open for new participants.
If you already have some musical experience (Grade 1 or above in an orchestral instrument) we may be able to put you into one of our higher-level orchestras, depending on spaces. Please fill out the expression of interest form, below, and someone will get back to you.
